How long does it take to file electronic case report?

For the person entering the case report it makes much faster because of:

• Prefilled fields: If date is today, it will be already filled for you; If there needs to be an ID added to pseudonimise the patient, it will be generated without the need to look up the last case; If there is multiple choise selection, a default will be selected.
• Copying: If there is a long from text you can copy that block of text and change just the relevant options.
• Shortcuts: all digital forms have keybord shortcuts, so for people who take advantage of them makes it into a process that will need only a couple of clicks.

But I am required to hand in a stack of papers?

All electronic case report submissions can be printed out. They have a button to open a print ready version.

Printers are nutorious for being misbehaved but if you have a working one you can set it to print a bulk job before handing them in and focus on other work.

What really matters is not how quickly an individual form be filed but that having data already in digital format eliminates the step of having to type it into your data processing system.
