How to share it infrastructure PhD students
Splitting the bill on your rent. Why not researcher tools?
PhD research projects are often small in patient volume and share oversight from same professors, sousing the same infrastructure makes a lot of sense
My currator will never agree!
Ask! Having a list of changes in the data and updates in one place for couple of students is something that reduces the work for them. Also, some curators may be less involved in the mechanics of how the data is collected and more about the result, so how you do it may be irrelevant.
If a class wants to use the tools ther is a special deal for the entire class of students that includes a free course of how to use the tools for the calss and your supervisor there is a special secion for “auditing/review”. As bonus they get to test if it is good system not on one of their own trials.
Where do we put the apliences?
You would get two boxes that are around 1l in volume that need to be connected to the internet and power. They will contain the data of all the trials, so keep it in ‘neutral’ location.
Idealy in your supervisors office. However, any office inside of the institution that has authorized you to conduct the trial will do. Devices can also be moved at any time and after turning them back on in new location everything will work from the moment it was shut down wihout any extra configuration.
